Was it a geode? We shall never know. It is still there. Looks like a ball of concrete.

The first weekend in Las Cruces there was a balloon rally.

At 7 a.m. they began inflating and launching all these neat balloons.

I always assumed from pictures that all the balloons went up at the same time.

Each balloon was a separate team.

And as each was ready, it lifted off.

They launched over a two hour span.

They went right over our heads.

It was impossible to get a picture of a sky full........unless maybe had a wide angle lens and knew what to ready for.
